NEUROMODULATORS
Would you like to eliminate persistent frown lines, grooves, or wrinkles? Do you want to restore pride in your appearance? Are you searching for an effective way to subtly lift targeted areas?
Used both as a corrective treatment and for maintenance and prevention, neuromodulators are a cornerstone of an effective revitalization strategy alongside an evidence-based skincare regimen. Not only can treatments with Botox, Xeomin or Dysport soften lines and lift or reshape the face, there is also substantial evidence that this group of products is preventative over time, actually reducing the development of wrinkles, improving skin quality and elasticity, and stimulating collagen production.
Patients who feel they look tired, angry or even sad, find that softening frown lines through neuromodulator treatment leaves them looking happier, more optimistic, and well-rested.

BOTOX INJECTIONS
Botox is a non-surgical injectable treatment which relieves facial wrinkles, particularly horizontal forehead wrinkles, lines located between the eyes, and the “crows’ feet” at the corners of the eyes. Botox is a neurotoxin which works by relaxing dynamic wrinkles, or those associated with repeat facial movements like frowning, smiling and squinting. Botox effectively relaxes the underlying muscles responsible for the facial expressions, thus smoothing the associated wrinkle for a rejuvenated appearance.

BOTOX INJECTION PROCEDURES, WHAT TO EXPECT?
You will fill out medical questionnaire intake form. Your face will be assessed at rest and in animation, and you discuss your areas of concern. The doctor will discuss what Botox can and can not do for you and will give you an estimate for how many units is needed to achieve those results. She will answer any questions you have and will go over risks of the procedure with you, and if you want to proceed you will sign the Botox consent forms and agree to pay for treatment. Your photograph will be taken at rest and in animation for documentation and comparison of results.
Your face will be cleaned with alcohol or other antiseptics. If you are worried about pain, a numbing cream can be applied to the injection areas for 20 minutes. Although except for lip injections this is not necessary as the pain from injection to other sites is very slight. Your face will be marked when you are animating to determine the best and safest sites for injection and then the Botox is given with a very thin needle.
At first visit the lowest dose to achieve the desired effect will be given as each patient is different in their response to treatment and this helps give the most natural look and avoid the frozen look. You will have slight bumps and redness at the sites of injection and that usually resolves in 10 minutes. You will not notice any difference until 2-3 days after the injection. The full effect usually takes 7-10 days.
You have to return to clinic in two weeks to get checked to make sure adequate results are achieved and that your face is symmetric. Minor asymmetries or under correction is easily fixed with a few more units of Botox that you are responsible to pay for. Your photograph will be taken for documentation of results.
Facial wrinkles are formed perpendicular to the muscle. When the muscles contract the wrinkle is formed. Botox is injected into the facial muscles, weakening them. It is not injected directly into the wrinkle.
Botox diffuses as much as an inch from its injection site. Even the same injection method can yield slightly different results each time.

BOTOX AFTER CARE
1. Avoid manipulating or rubbing in the area of the injection site for several hours. This can cause the Botox solution to migrate or move around, making it more likely to impact areas beyond the desired muscles.
2. Avoid exercising or yoga or excessive sweating. Do contract and relax the treated muscles as much as possible for two to three hours after the procedure. This will facilitate uptake of the toxin by neurons, accelerating the appearance of clinical benefits.
3. Avoid laying down or bending forward for at least 4 hours after the injection procedure. These actions can cause migration of the solution that can lead to complications and undesired outcomes or effects such as brow or eyelid drooping.
4. While you may see results in as little as 48 to 72 hours after injection, this is not typical. The majority of patients do not notice full impact from the treatment for 7 to 14 days. You should wait at least 14 days before deciding if you want additional treatment to avoid over-treating an area.
5. Although exceptionally rare, an allergic reaction to Botox is possible. If you notice skin redness of an extreme nature, excessive swelling or a developing rash, call the office immediately or arrange to be seen by a physician. The same is necessary if you experience puffy or very swollen eyes, a severe headache or other adverse reactions. Previous treatments can cause antibodies to develop that can lead to undesired reactions.
6. Feel free to contact this facility with questions, comments or concerns at any time following treatment. We want you to be safe, happy and completely satisfied.
